Exhibition « dignité »

French Institute, Rabat, 2010

My second outdoor work for the exhibition «dignity» represents an old lady, life size, dignified, sitting on a chair hanging from the wall, her feet dangling in the air, a metaphor for the frailty of our respect to others, which requires a true will to fraternize with all human beings.

The picture is visible only from a unique point of view that one has to discover. Thus, dignity is not an evidence. He who seeks dignity for himself or in relation with others must struggle to find it and keep it. The old lady could fall, fall from high. She’s both strong and frail, like the look we should take at ourselves.
